On the morning of December 1st, Zhang Xianming who is the Vice President and a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC of Taiyuan University of Technology, visited College of Environmental Science and Engineering to conduct research and guidance. Leaders and professors of the college and related personnel participated in the research symposium.

During the research symposium, Vice President Zhang Xianming discussed with the college in depth the cooperation matters between TYUT and Taiyuan City, and managed to learn the current situation of the disciplinary construction, faculties and the training of postgraduates here. He pointed out that we should accelerate the economic and social development as well as the ecological civilization construction of Taiyuan via science and technology; we should fully utilize the advantaged scientific research strength of the college and concentrate our efforts on tackling key issues to improve Taiyuan’s air quality through means of exterior synergy and internal integration.

Yue Xiuping, the head of College of Environmental Science and Engineering, reported to him the overall construction and development situation here and said that as a response, specific tasks would be implemented in a timely manner and preliminary research carried out. Xu Xin, secretary of the college, expressed on behalf of the college his gratitude to Vice President Zhang Xianming for his concern for the development of the college. Besides, Xu also promised that members of the college’s Party and administration would coordinate resources and strengthen cohesion to stimulate the growth of local economy in Shanxi Province.

Then, Vice President Zhang Xianming visited the college’s laboratories for postgraduates and undergraduates respectively and its instruments center.
